Are you thinking about booking an equine session this summer? Here’s some important info you should read!
Wow! I’ve received a lot of emails this week asking about the booking process and how far ahead you should book. Here’s a quick look at how it works:
Your Booking Questions Answered!
How far ahead should I book my session?
If you have a specific date in mind, I recommend booking as soon as possible. If you’re flexible, message me or send me an email – I may have a date available right away!
When are you available?
I’m available some days, most weeknights and weekends. I will be out of the country from July 15th to August 3rd. If you are interested in booking a session in early July or August, please give me a shout now, as I expect to be busy those two weeks in July and I will not be processing bookings while I am away.
How do I book a session?
Touch base with me and let me know you’re interested. I’m happy to answer any of your questions (even silly ones!) and I can send you a copy of my current availabilty. Once you choose a date, you’ll need to pay your booking fee ($250). I will send you a link to a payable invoice through Square (Visa/Mastercard) or you can send an e-transfer to email@example.com. Your booking fee is credited 100% towards your session – so if your total session is $350, you will pay the $250 booking fee to hold your session date, and the remaining $100 will be due the day of the session.
What’s the difference between your booking fee and a deposit?
Not much, except that the booking fee is non-refundable. I spend a lot of time working for you before the actual session happens – answering emails, talking to you on the phone, planning ideas for your session, and driving to the location. This is how I make sure the booking process is fair to me – to ensure that time is paid for should you not be there when I get there.
I make sure the booking process is fair to you by applying 100% of the booking fee to your session total. This means that for a $350 session, once you pay the $250 booking fee, the remaining $100 will be due the day of the shoot. I make sure I’m available by phone, text or email 7 days a week and try my best to always be flexible and fair.
How does rescheduling work?
The weather is what it is and we have no control over it! I keep my eye on the forecast and always err on the side of safety. There is no penalty for rescheduling due to dangerous weather. With 24 hours notice, rescheduling for other reasons may be possible but that is subject to my availability and discretion. Booking fees do not expire as long as you remain in contact* and are transferable for paid value only, like a gift card. *If you cancel your session or do not show up and do not respond to attempts to contact you within 60 days, the booking is considered abandoned and the fee is forfeit.
